Houses by plot dimensions
House on a 7 × 8 m plot
This design adopts a compact footprint, close to a balanced rectangle. That geometry can make it easier to distribute the forces in both directions, provided the large openings, the stair and the setback of the upper facade are built into the stability arrangement.
Compactness therefore does not remove the need for a precise reading of the panels that actually bear.

What this design shows
The stair is placed on one side of the plan. Its opening interrupts the floor close to a facade and calls for a coherent connection between the edge components, the joists and the panels around it.
On the upper floor, the facade includes a recessed space protected by an external frame. The floor edge must carry the loads of the facade, limit deformation and provide the connections with the joinery, the balustrade and the soffit.
The openings of the upper level are not necessarily aligned with the solid walls of the ground floor. Any offset must be dealt with in the load path, not compensated after manufacture.
Layout
Schematic plans
These documents are there to make the layout and the envelope shown understandable. They are schematic plans: they constitute neither construction drawings, nor structural drawings, nor a building permit.

Possible adaptations and their technical implications
The external space of the upper floor can be enclosed, enlarged or removed. Enclosing it increases the protected envelope area, but it also changes the loads, the joinery and the position of the facade. Enlarging it reduces the floor area and transforms its edges and its drainage.
The wet rooms grouped around a central zone can be reorganised. Moving them must preserve service routes compatible with the joists and with the acoustic requirements of the separations.
In repetition, this compact form lends itself to panels of recurring dimensions. A mirrored version nevertheless remains a distinct manufacturing model: markings, perforations, floor openings and services must be reversed and checked.
A design becomes a project only after study
Site and geotechnics, planning, orientation, climate, structure, foundations, loads, wind, seismic action, envelope, performance, services, regulations and contractual scope are defined for the real case. None of these points is guaranteed by the original documents.
