ALGERIAN COMPANY · SINCE 2014

Engineering becomes structure.

Algeria Light Steel brings together structural engineering, digital preparation and the manufacture of cold-formed light steel frames. From the first project input to components ready for assembly, the same definition guides the work.

ALGERIA LIGHT STEEL

An Algerian company connecting engineering, the factory and the construction site

Established in 2014, Algeria Light Steel specialises in the engineering and manufacture of cold-formed light steel frames. At Rouiba, its organisation brings together structural engineering, digital preparation, production, assembly, quality control and logistics around the same project documentation.

This organisation meets a simple requirement: what is decided during the study must remain legible in the manufactured component, the assembled frame and its erection. The disciplines intervene at different stages, but work from a shared definition of the building.

Algeria Light Steel therefore does more than turn a coil of steel into sections. The company prepares a complete structural assembly, checks its assembly in Rouiba, organises its dismantling and then its dispatch to the construction site. Depending on the agreed scope, this continuity can extend through to erection.

MATERIAL STANDARDS

The quality of a frame begins with the quality of its steel

At Algeria Light Steel, material is never treated as a secondary choice or a simple procurement variable. It contributes directly to the intended quality, strength and durability of the frame.

We favour steels with demanding mechanical properties and protection levels suited to the project conditions. This recommendation takes account of the structural study, the building’s use, its environment and the specification. Our role is not to apply the same grade everywhere, but to defend the level of material each project deserves.

Specifications such as S550GD+Z275 may be recommended where they meet the needs established by the study. They are not presented as an isolated technical claim, but as the expression of a broader requirement: never weaken a frame through a material choice driven solely by habit or convenience.

Before processing, Algeria Light Steel checks that the material received corresponds to the selected specification. Material certificates are retained and issued to the client. For us, quality does not begin when the machine starts. It begins with knowing and controlling what enters the factory.

INDUSTRIAL CONTROL

Industrial ambition is measured by the resources you commit to it

Algeria Light Steel has chosen to bring several complementary production resources together in its Rouiba factory. This reflects an ambition: to have, on the same site, the capacity required to support different structural solutions without reducing every project to a single industrial configuration.

Two Light Steel Framing roll-forming lines meet complementary needs. One produces the sections used in walls, floors and trusses. The other extends manufacturing capacity to larger sections and thicknesses. A third line is dedicated to the profiled steel decking used in certain floor solutions.

This combination gives Algeria Light Steel genuine industrial flexibility. It allows production to be directed by the frame defined through engineering, rather than systematically limiting the engineering to the capacity of a single machine.

The value of these resources does not, however, lie solely in the number or model of the machines. The data prepared for each project organises the forming, cutting, perforation and identification operations. The equipment therefore becomes an extension of a definition developed upstream.

But the machines do not decide alone. Operators prepare the lines, monitor production and inspect the finished components. Algeria Light Steel’s industrial control depends precisely on this combination of engineering, digital data, production resources and the people who operate them.

EXPERTISE

Industrial precision remains a human skill

At Algeria Light Steel, digital preparation and industrial resources do not reduce the role of people. They increase their responsibility. A machine can perform the operations it receives; it cannot question uncertain data or assess the overall coherence of a frame by itself.

The in-house structural engineering team performs, approves and signs off the calculations, then prepares the definition that will guide manufacturing. Operators run the equipment, monitor the material as it is processed and ensure that the finished components correspond to that definition.

The assembly teams then bring the components together, form the panels and trusses, and give the frame its physical reality. Quality control, logistics and erection teams carry this requirement through dismantling, packing and, depending on the contract, on-site erection.

These disciplines intervene at different stages but work from the same project definition. Algeria Light Steel’s control depends on their coordination and on the quality of the information they pass to one another.

RIGOUR

What has been prepared must remain traceable

Once the frame has been dismantled, rigour means preserving its identity through every component. Components are marked, linked to a panel or assembly and then grouped to retain a clear connection with the frame from which they came.

Identification marks, schedules and fabrication documents link what was produced to the project documentation. They support checks and prepare packing, loading and future erection.

Algeria Light Steel also retains the supporting records associated with the processed batches and issues material certificates to the client. The other documents supplied depend on the scope defined in the contract.

A component that can no longer be clearly linked to its position represents a break in the project’s continuity. Our requirement is to prevent that continuity from being lost between Rouiba and the construction site.

CONTINUITY

Our work does not stop at the factory gates

After assembly, verification and dismantling, packing, sequencing and loading continue the work performed in Rouiba. Components are grouped to preserve the legibility of the frame and prepare for handling.

Transport, unloading and lifting arrangements vary according to the destination, volume, access and organisation of the construction site. They are defined for each project according to the agreed scope and are never presented as automatically included.

On arrival, the construction site must receive organised panels, trusses and assemblies. Depending on the contract, Algeria Light Steel may stop at supply, include logistics preparation or extend its involvement through to frame erection in Algeria.

The level of involvement may change. The requirement remains the same: what was prepared, assembled and checked in Rouiba must retain its coherence through to reassembly.
