INTERNATIONAL PROJECTS · ASSESSED CASE BY CASE

Prepare the frame in Algeria. Build the organisation suited to the country.

Algeria Light Steel assesses projects located outside Algeria where the technical scope, logistics and local organisation can be credibly defined. The frame can be prepared as a Structure Kit or a Panel Kit; responsibilities for design, approval, transport and erection are then established for the country and project concerned.

FROM ENGINEERING TO SUPPLY

What Algeria Light Steel can prepare from Algeria

The scope is not the same from one project to the next. It is built from the available data, the rules of the country, the level of prefabrication sought and the resources planned locally.

  1. Engineer the frame

Analyse the drawings, the site, the actions to be considered and the interfaces with the architecture, foundations and other work packages.

  2. Prepare the data

Define the sections, panels, trusses, identification marks, service holes and sequences required for manufacturing and assembly.

  3. Manufacture in the factory

Form, cut, perforate and mark the components, then group or pre-assemble them according to the level of prefabrication selected.

  4. Organise the supply

Define the packing, loading, accompanying documents and the interface with the transport provided for in the contract.

LEVEL OF PREFABRICATION

Balancing transport volume and on-site assembly

Structure Kit

The sections are prepared, marked and grouped by the component to be assembled. The transported volume is more compact, but a local team must turn the sections into panels, trusses and frame in accordance with the project documentation.

  • More compact transport
  • More structural assembly carried out locally
  • Trained team and sequence control required

Panel Kit

The planned panels, trusses and subassemblies are assembled in the factory before supply. Structural work on site is reduced, but volume, unloading, handling and lifting must be anticipated.

  • More prefabrication
  • Greater transported volume
  • Access, storage and lifting to be organised

The choice depends on transport, access, labour, lifting and construction sequence taken together. It is settled during the study, not from a general rule applied by country.

WHO ASSEMBLES AND WHO ERECTS?

Local organisation is part of the solution

Before any supply, the project must identify the parties able to receive, inspect, assemble and erect the frame, together with each party’s responsibilities.

Independent local contractor
A qualified contractor assembles and erects from the documentation defined for the project.
Supported local team
The local team carries out the works with our technical assistance, whose content and limits are set out in the contract.
Enhanced support
A greater presence of our teams may be considered where local law, insurance, security, travel and the contract allow.

These are possible ways of organising the work, not services automatically available in every country.

BEFORE COMMITMENT

Six confirmations structure an international project

  1. Applicable rules — building codes, climatic and seismic actions, approval procedures and locally authorised professionals.

  2. Design responsibilities — allocation between Algeria Light Steel, the architect, the engineer, the design office and the country’s inspection bodies.

  3. Transport and customs — packing, route, formalities, costs, insurance and the exact point at which responsibility transfers.

  4. Site access — unloading, storage, handling, lifting and the order in which components arrive.

  5. Local team — skills, numbers, tooling, supervision and inspection of the connections.

  6. Building interfaces — foundations, anchors, envelope, floors, roof, building services and tolerances between work packages.

INFORMATION THAT TRAVELS WITH THE COMPONENTS

The greater the distance, the clearer the documentation must be

References, identification marks, drawings, views, schedules and assembly documents link every manufactured component to its position in the building. For a Structure Kit, the documentation organises the move from sections to panels to frame. For a Panel Kit, it organises the move from prefabricated subassemblies to erected frame.

The exact content of the documentation, its language, the approvals required and the distribution of documents between the parties are defined within the contractual scope.

PROVE IT BEFORE REPEATING IT

A first scope can secure a development

Where a project involves several buildings or units in an unfamiliar context, a first building, package or pilot area can confirm transport, interfaces, assembly and coordination before repetition. This approach is proposed where it genuinely reduces risk; it is not imposed on every project.

A GLOBAL CAPABILITY, NOT A UNIVERSAL PROMISE

Every country and every project is examined before acceptance

An enquiry may be submitted from any country. Algeria Light Steel then confirms whether it can assess the project, under what scope and with what local organisation. Acceptance depends in particular on technical feasibility, applicable rules, logistics, insurance and the parties available.

Tell us the country, the project and the organisation already available.

For a first review, give the location, use, known dimensions or volumes, available drawings, the level of prefabrication envisaged, access conditions and whether a local team already exists. Algeria Light Steel will tell you what can be assessed and what still has to be organised locally.
